Genetic Formula: W

Description: Dominant white horses have pink skin, blue or brown eyes, and white body coloring. These horses have an inability to form pigment in their hair or skin. Dominant white horses have at least one white parent and produce white offspring 50% of the time when bred to dark colors and 75% of the time when bred to another true white.

There are also Sabino (maximal paint) horses and Few spot Appaloosa's with white markings so large they cover the entire body. To find out more please visit our markings page.

Another color often mistaken for white are white colored Gray Factor horse's (which are distinguished by their dark skin), and Crème Factor horses (which are not white but instead a light cream color).
